OUR STORY
Greenland Global & Backalive Foundation is a non-profit charity organisation offering support and improving a wide spectrum of well being to those in deep poverty. We ensure access to basic needs like food, water, health care, shelter and education
Greenland Global Backalive and Foundation was founded over two decades ago by Dr D.C.N Christopher Obi who was a passionate and benevolent philanthropist. He was able to cater for the medical needs of most individuals in his local community and at large. Helping the poor and the sick to overcome their challenges. His quest to better his community and promote zero hunger and zero sickness spur his passion to gain a degree in science studies. He then went ahead to open his own medical herbal traditional centre, where the majority of people received free treatment. He was recognised by national institute of health for his Indigenous ethnomedicinal recipes for the management of tuberculosis and related ailments, and awarded by Nigeria Herbal medical associates just to mention but a few. The Greenland Global Foundation and Backalive Foundation rebirthed in his memory when he died in 2014. It was rebranded and registered on 12th Sept 2018. And ever since has been fully committed towards contributing to saving, serving, elevating, empowering, and promoting quality charity services to the local community and at large. We recently expanded to the United Kingdom as we continue to press on towards touching many lives globally. We are a small team driven by passion and commitment towards achieving a quality standard support and engagements for humanitarian purposes.
In addition, we also support vulnerable adults through our great team that are well skilled to communicate and ascertain their needs, reduce loneliness, and avoid negligence. This is a new project that we have on board, providing free slots to reach out to mostly elderly adults who want to chat to someone to limit loneliness. Our team is friendly and willing to listen.
Our goal is to eradicate hunger as well as eliminate loneliness because of intense loneliness in elderly adults living alone and together, we can fight it!
Our MissioN
- Food bank outreach to homeless, motherless homes and widows/widower
- Empowering women who are maltreated in the society i.e., widows who are maltreated by their in-laws, helping them to find their feet back in the society.
- Promote companionship through effective communication, especially to vulnerable elderly adults, so that their needs will be communicated and not neglected.
- Supplying of basic medical kits like first aid boxes, PPE to village medical centres.
- Provision of school supplies to local government schools to support and encourage students that are challenged financially.
Our VisioN
- We are passionate about relieving hunger and poverty in the poorest area in our community. Promote quality standard of living amongst our society and large.
- Empowering women who are maltreated in the society i.e., widows who are maltreated by their in-laws, helping them to find their feet back in the society.
